![]() Oh friend, let me tell you a little secret. We have SO many tools to help our immune systems function properly. One of my absolute favorites is something called the Raindrop oils. The Raindrop Technique is a series of herb oils, dripped onto the spine, one by one. It's a very relaxing process that can take around an hour to do. And while dripping the oils and feathering with the fingernails is the proper way to do a Raindrop massage session (there are instructions inside the box), I don't always have someone around to do the process for me. And I'm impatient. When we were in and out of Disney World and on and off airplanes for 3 months straight a few years ago, there were a few things that I did to keep myself healthy. THIS little roller in the picture above was one of the most used items... the Raindrop oils, in a ROLLER! Now, is putting all of the raindrop oils together into a roller the proper way to use them? No. Does it work well? YES. Resounding yes. Are there times where you just do what you gotta do?? Also yes. This roller literally lives in my purse, and I apply to my spine before going into public. Let's talk a little bit about what the oils are in the roller, and what the various uses for them are, shall we? Valor: This blend is so special to me. Amazingly helpful for me when feelings of overwhelm creep in. Shallow breathing, sweating, eyes darting around the room, elevated heart rate, tummy in flips... if you know, you know. It's gotten me through many a nervous moment: before speaking in public, before playing a concert, before taking a trip somewhere. Nerves begone! Oregano: The research that has been done on oregano and anything icky is astounding! It's such a great oil for the immune system too. This is one of the oils that also comes in a Vitality version (meaning, approved for internal use if you follow the French model of aromatherapy), so I like to add a drop to my olive oil before mixing it in with veggies I'm roasting. YUM. Thyme: Another awesome herb oil that's great for the immune system. Thymol (the main constituent in thyme) supports the body in times of inflammation and is high in antioxidants. Like Oregano, it also has a Vitality version, so I love to add a drop to my olive oil before mixing it in with homemade bone broth soup. I've also been known to use a drop on a blemish.... it's HOT, but it sure does help get rid of the pesky little whitehead! Basil: Who doesn't love basil?? Being Italian, basil was a staple in my diet growing up, and still is to this day. Such a nostalgic aroma and taste for me. This is an oil that can help with muscle tension (I use it when my head isn't feeling the best), and is a great addition to pasta sauce! I love to diffuse it with lemon in the kitchen too- it's so fresh! Cypress: A great oil for circulation! This one has loads of uses, but I love to apply it to my legs and feet at the end of the day, especially if my lymphatic fluid hasn't been pumping as much as I'd like. Also a good one to apply to the bridge of the nose if the dry air is causing a ruckus in the winter. Wintergreen: This oil is very warming, and has inflammation reducing properties. If you're familiar with oils, it's the main oil in the PanAway blend. For your shoulder pans, elbow pans, knee pan, neck pan... LOL. Look up 'methyl salicylate'- that's the constituent that makes all the good feelings happen. Marjoram: This oil is great for tired muscles and relieving nervous tension. There's a Vitality version, and can give a great herby flavor to chicken, stuffing, vegetables, marinades... and it's great for a happy digestive system! Peppermint: I probably use peppermint the most out of any essential oil. It feels like an Icy & Hot type of feel because of the menthol, and just a whiff of it wakes me right up! I love to diffuse it alone or with a citrus, and you bet there's a Vitality version. A drop or two in some brownie batter and HELLO delicious peppermint brownies. I love to apply it to the sinuses (avoiding the eyes) if they're feeling a bit stuffy, or when the seasons are changing. Also a perfect breath freshener- one drop in the mouth will take care of it! Aroma Siez: When I sleep on my shoulders wrong, turn my head too fast, or get a little too adventurous in yoga, I apply Aroma Siez. This blend is the perfect combination of oils to help relieve the discomfort of everyday muscle stressors. ![]() The combination of these oils together is a POWERHOUSE for the immune system and I swear by it as a part of my wellness routine. I roll it on my spine and the back of my neck before and after people-ing, and really any time that I'm feeling tired, worn (physically or emotionally), and like I need a bit of a boost. The oils have so many zillions of uses besides the Raindrop Technique though that this collection is worth its weight in gold. Truly. If you've never ordered from Young Living before, when you grab this collection on Loyalty Rewards, you'll earn around $25 back in store credit (called Loyalty Rewards Points) that you can turn in for free products. Maybe grab a couple citrus oils with it, or a Thieves Cleaner! I'll also give you $20 back (your choice of a Young Living product credit or PayPal) on top of all of that, too, plus a roller to make the Raindrop Roller with and some other little goodies. And don't you worry, I'll be there to help you get the most out of your oils for your family. You will not oil alone, promise!
