![]() Happy Spring! ...is it happy for you? For YEARS I struggled in the spring. The pollen, the flowers, the trees budding, the grass being mowed, spring cleaning stirring up dust- somehow it would all end up in my nose. Luckily, I experimented and found some things that worked to help me breathe easily and feel comfortable, and actually ENJOY the spring! Let's take a peek at my go-to's! First up, local raw honey. Local to wherever you're spending spring. Where I am in Ohio, we have a few local bee keepers that sell their honey at Whole Foods, farmers markets, and online- really easy to find!
Next up, my Season Change Trio. I take a 10ml roller, and fill it with 10 drops each Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint, and fill the rest with carrier oil. Then I roll it around the outside of the ear (on the head, like where noise cancelling headphones would rest), and down the sides of the neck. I choose to use Young Living for my essential oils- they're the highest quality and most effective I've ever used. I'll also diffuse 3-4 drops of each essential oil for extra support (especially overnight), or add one drop of each EO to that raw honey I mentioned above. Normally, the roller does the trick on its own! Another helper has been saline nasal spray, sprayed into the nose and then blown out. I've used a neti pot with success also to help flush the sinuses. Gut health has been another huge helper. We eat a paleo diet (specifically, Autoimmune Protocol in the process of reintroductions), and are working on increasing the diversity of the gut microbiome with raw sauerkraut, prebiotic foods, and probiotics. So there you have it my friends- those are my spring solutions for all the yellow dust that is flying around right now! I don't know if it'll work for you, but it's what works for me and are my go-to's for spring!
